Three towers · one rooftop park

Marina Bay Sands

Three 55-storey towers designed by Moshe Safdie support a single elevated SkyPark. Its gardens, viewing deck and infinity pool reserved for guests are the standout attractions. Spacious rooms on upper floors overlook either the city and bay or the gardens beyond.

The ground-level development feels like its own neighbourhood, complete with a shopping mall along a canal, convention facilities, two theatres, plentiful dining and the waterfront ArtScience Museum shaped like a lotus. The podium also contains a gaming floor. Across a footbridge lie Gardens by the Bay, while the business district sits on the opposite shore.

Ideal forA first visit, when you want the skyline from above and the waterfront at street level.

Hôtel de Paris Monte-Carlo

Dating to 1864, Hôtel de Paris was conceived as a grand counterpart to the casino amenity opposite it; together, they still frame the square. Renovation work lasting four years finished in 2019, refreshing the rooms and creating a rooftop wing while retaining the Belle Époque exterior, original lobby and Bar Américain.

Food is a major draw, from Alain Ducasse's Le Louis XV downstairs to the rooftop grill with a retractable summer roof. An indoor connection leads guests to the Thermes Marins spa. Across the square, Charles Garnier's casino is only half a minute away on foot, one of several attractions rather than the focus of a stay.

Ideal forStaying at the centre of an old square rather than on its edges.

Wynn Palace

The approach makes an impression: gondolas circle an eight-acre lake above the fountain displays, while the atrium showcases seasonal floral installations. Instead of standard hotel ornaments, its public interiors feature a real assortment of antiques and art.

Many rooms rank among the area's most spacious and look through full-height windows towards the lake. Guests also have a spa, shopping arcade and dining options spanning Cantonese and European cuisine. A gaming floor occupies the main level, and nearby resorts can be reached on foot.

Ideal forTravellers who count spectacle as part of the stay rather than a distraction from it.

  • Fountain shows on an eight-acre lake
  • Hand-blown glass ceiling in the lobby
  • Conservatory replanted each season

Bellagio

Bellagio opened in 1998 with inspiration from an Italian lakeside village, and remains one of the Strip's most recognisable hotels. Its lakefront fountains perform during afternoons and evenings, with public views available free from the pavement.

Around two thousand Dale Chihuly glass flowers cover the lobby ceiling. Next door, the Conservatory & Botanical Gardens changes its displays with the seasons, and Cirque du Soleil presents its aquatic production 'O' in a dedicated theatre. Although the casino amenity is substantial, the restaurants, pools and gardens define the hotel experience.

Ideal forA classic stay where the lake and the conservatory matter more than the floor.

  • Several towers at different prices
  • Open-air marine habitats

Atlantis Paradise Island

Across the bridge from Nassau, Atlantis spreads across several Paradise Island hotels rather than a single property: the arched Royal Towers, the Coral, the Reef and the more secluded Cove. Room quality and rates vary significantly, making the specific tower an important booking decision.

Families are drawn by Aquaventure's water rides, outdoor habitats home to sharks, rays and reef fish, the marina and an extensive beach. Its casino is in the central building, so a visit need not involve it at all.

Ideal forFamilies who want a water park and the beach on the same site as the room.

The Palace of the Lost City

The Palace is Sun City's signature hotel, a few hours northwest of Johannesburg in the bushveld. Opened in 1992, its carved interiors and domed architecture tell an imagined lost-kingdom story. The theatrical style is a matter of taste, but the decorative workmanship is unmistakable.

Elsewhere in the resort are two golf courses, the sandy wave pool at Valley of Waves, a spa and more affordable hotels; the entertainment centre houses the on-site gaming floor. Immediately outside the grounds is Pilanesberg National Park, located within an ancient volcanic crater.

Ideal forPairing a resort stay with a game drive, with no long transfer in between.

Crown Towers Melbourne

Set on Southbank by the Yarra, Crown Towers is the quietest and tallest of the complex's three hotels. Accommodation looks towards either the river and Melbourne skyline or the bay behind; request a river-facing room for the better outlook.

Downstairs, guests find a riverside stretch of shops and restaurants, cinemas, venues and a main-level gaming floor. A footbridge puts central Melbourne about two minutes away, with the arts district, botanic gardens and cricket ground nearby.

Ideal forA city break where good restaurants and the river are a few minutes from the lift.

Resorts World Genting

The journey from Kuala Lumpur takes roughly an hour into cooler highlands, where temperatures can drop by ten degrees or more. At around 1,800 metres, Resorts World Genting is accessible by mountain road or Awana SkyWay cable car, with afternoon cloud frequently sweeping across the top.

Think of the complex as a town on a mountain rather than one hotel. Its collection of properties includes First World Hotel, for years among the world's biggest by room count. Between the hotels sit a theme park, arena, cinemas, shopping centre and food halls; the principal complex contains the on-site gaming floor.

Ideal forCool mountain air an hour from a big city, at a scale that surprises first-time visitors.

Fallsview Casino Resort

Perched within the escarpment above Horseshoe Falls, Fallsview is known above all for the direct waterfall views from many of its rooms. The tower stands over a wide podium built into the hillside, placing the entrance high above the river.

Amenities span an indoor swimming pool, spa, restaurants, retail promenade and a 1,500-seat performance theatre. Gaming occupies lower floors. The riverside lookout paths and departure points for boat trips are reachable on foot.

Ideal forSeeing the falls from your room rather than from a crowded platform.

Okada Manila

On reclaimed shoreline facing Manila Bay, Okada's curved building fronts The Fountain, a huge illuminated water feature with choreographed evening performances. Watching the sunset across the bay provides a second nightly spectacle.

The property includes a wave-pool beach club beneath a glass dome, an array of restaurants, retail arcade and spa, alongside a gaming floor in the main structure. Its proximity to the airport makes it practical for an arrival or departure night in Manila.

Ideal forAn easy, self-contained stay near the airport with a show outside every evening.

What sets this ranking apart

The stay takes priority

Where other rankings focus on casinos, our editorial list evaluates the travel experience: neighbourhood, architecture, comfort and places within walking distance.

Each entry closes with an "Ideal for" recommendation to help readers decide whether the property suits their trip.

No commercial influence

Properties and agencies cannot pay for inclusion, promotion or favourable wording. We use no affiliate commissions, reservation platform or tracking pixels.

Editorial independence also means mentioning compromises, from busy wings and isolated locations to major price differences between neighbouring towers.

Planning your stay

Rates, room categories and building works are subject to change. Before reserving, ask the property about your exact wing, ongoing renovations, deposits, extra fees and cancellation terms.

During peak travel periods, securing a reservation early can be more important than choosing a particular room type.

Responsible visits

Casino access is age-restricted under local laws. Anyone choosing to enter should set a firm entertainment budget, not expect income. All ten properties offer reasons to visit without gambling.

If gambling becomes harmful, confidential support is available at no cost. Visit Safer gambling resources.
